Grandma Danita and Aunt Megan came to visit last weekend. I was already asleep when they arrived Friday night but when when I woke up Saturday there they were in my play area. I showed Grandma Danita how to play with stickers. She’s really good at it.
After lunch, we all went to the County Fair. I won a toy snake by fishing and Aunt Megan won me a purple monkey by throwing a ping pong ball. We ate kettle corn and I got to pet a goat. A big emu came up and bit me on the toe but I didn’t cry. I’m tough. I showed Aunt Megan how to really eat noodles in a Chinese restaurant that evening. She likes noodles too but she didn’t want to sit near me.
The next day Mama and Papa took me to Splashdown Waterpark. Uncle Kale and Cousin Candy came with us. I REALLY enjoy those waterslides. I kept going again and again until I couldn’t climb up any more. After a short break for Dippin Dots, I went a few more times on the slide. I even got to play in a big sand pit while everyone was getting ready to leave.
I went to Daycare for the first time on Tuesday. I really liked it at first but the day just went on and on and I was really happy to see Papa when he came to get me. I didn’t want Mama and Papa to go when we went back Wednesday and Thursday but I had fun playing with all of the toys there. I got to stay home Friday morning because I was sleepy, and then when we went to daycare Mama and Papa stayed with me until I let them know it was ok with me if they left.
The other kids there are really friendly, but some of them cry, and that makes me unhappy. But the toys are fun, and I really enjoy reading the books they have. I think I’m starting to like the place, it’s just different from what I’m used to.

This weekend was so exciting! We went to visit my godmother, Rachel. We stayed with Rachel’s mama and her mama’s doggies, Buddy and Chase. Chase was too much of a spaz, but Buddy was calm and not at all scary to get close to.
On Saturday we went to the zoo. I really liked it. I saw so many animals that I had never seen before. There was a great big polar bear, and a giraffe, and leopards, and penguins, and ducks, and all sorts of things. But my favorite animal was a squirrel that came real close to us after lunch. He moved really fast!
I had to stay close to Mama and Papa, so they had me wear a leash. I didn’t like being held back, but I liked it better than just riding in a stroller. When we went to see the goats though, Papa took my leash off and he let me pet them. They weren’t nearly as soft as my friends’ cats, but they were still gentle and fun to touch.
Then on Sunday we went to Rachel’s church. Mama and Papa let me watch the music from right up against the rail of the balcony where we were sitting. I’d never seen people singing and dancing like that before. After the music was over, I went and played with the other kids in the nursery. Some of the kids got upset and cried for their mommies, but not me. I had lots of fun and everyone said I was a good girl.
After church we went to a water park. It was so much fun! I went down waterslides all by myself and then mama or papa would catch me at the bottom. I didn’t like the river so much though. It was boring and mama and papa wouldn’t let go of me. And the life jacket was kinda bulky and made it tricky to move. But the fountains were lots of fun, and I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun in my whole life than when I went down those slides!
I learned 2 new words this weekend. Actually, I learned more than that. But the 2 very special words I learned were “yes” and “no”. Now, when someone asks me a question, I can answer them. I usually say no, but if someone says the answer should be yes, I can say that too.

On Monday I went someplace new. My friends Elsa and John were there, and so were some other people. We played and played and played and had lots of fun. My favorite new friend is Savannah. She’s a big kid, and she’s a great playmate. I went back to Savannah’s house on Tuesday and Wednesday too.
Wednesday morning I took a trip to see my doctor. The first person who saw me was a lady who let me stand on a scale. Mama and Papa told me to stand still, and I did. The lady said that I weighed 19.2 pounds. After she left, Mama and Papa let me draw on the soft paperstretched out on the padded bench inside the little room. Then the doctor came and did all sorts of funny things. She shined a light in my ears, and then in my eyes. She put a funny little disk on my chest and my back. It was cold. I tried to grab it and look at it closer, but it was attached to her ears. Everyone said that I was very good.
On Thursday, Mama and I went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Grandma and I made some peanut butter cookies. I brought a plate of the first batch down to Grandpa and Mama in the office. But every time I held the plate up to show Grandpa they fell off. I also taste-tested them on the way. When the cookies fell off the plate I would take a bite and then put them back on. Mama and Grandpa laughed a lot, but they told me I was doing a good job so I was happy.
Then on Friday we went to a different doctor’s office. There were other kids there, and there were lots of neat toys. After waiting for a while, we went with a lady to a little room to meet the doctor. The doctor had a nice office, with all sorts of interesting toys, but after I’d tried to grab them a few times, Papa picked me up and wouldn’t let me back down again. I was so bored.
Later we went to a little room where Mama had to lie down on a padded table and let the doctor put some blue goop on her belly. There was a computer screen in there or something, and it was showing pictures that changed whenever the doctor put a little toy on Mama’s belly. After just a few seconds, the doctor told Papa he should sit down, and then suddenly everyone was getting excited about this new word “twins” that I hadn’t heard before. Papa wouldn’t let me down even when I squirmed, so I was still pretty bored.
Afterward, we went to visit Grandpa, and then we went to Denny’s and I got a really good dinner with chicken nuggets, cheese, and fruit. Mama and Papa let me feed myself.
Papa got a new laptop this week, and just like the old one, I can’t touch it. I try and I try, but they always pull me away from it. I don’t see what the problem is. I’m really good at pushing buttons. I’ve watched Papa and Mama do it enough that I’m sure I could push the buttons just as good as they do if they’d just let me.

I really like flowers. Papa bought me a rose and I had lots of fun smelling it. Later, Mama helped me find some flowers in our yard and I brought them to Papa. Then we rested in the hammock.
I know how to blow kisses. Tuesday night, Mama and Papa took me to watch a baseball game. I cheered a lot and yelled “baaaall!” There was a little boy there who was really cute. I waved at him. When I got his attention I started blowing kisses. Mama says I’m a flirt but everyone laughed so I guess that’s a good thing.

Mama’s been getting sick a lot lately, especially in the kitchen. That means the dishes got so bad that I had to help Papa get them clean. He brought the dishes outside in a tub so I could reach. I’m really good at washing. I washed some rocks too.

It’s been really hot lately and Mama and Papa let me run around in just a diaper. Probably because I run out of clean clothes and bibs really fast. Some days I have to take several baths because I like to eat messy things and I feed myself. Spaghetti is a favorite.

For the past couple weeks, every time I make a poopy diaper, Papa changes it for me. So now, I know that a poopy diaper means I get to see Papa, even if he has to stop working to change me. At grandma’s house, Grandma thought it was funny when I squatted down, did my business, and then said “Papa”. I didn’t know he wasn’t able to come see me, but I knew what was supposed to happen.
So Mama decided that since now I’m grown up enough to recognize a routine, it’s time to start potty-training. Now, you might think it might be a little scary or upsetting to suddenly have a routine changed. But not for me. Mama and Papa picked out a potty that’s just my size, and that plays music every time I use it. The very first time Mama let me sit on it, I knew just what I was supposed to do. I made my poopy and mama gave me a great big cheer. Then I clapped for myself, because I knew what a good girl I was.
I’ve used that potty a couple times since then. Sometimes I’ll go, and sometimes I’ll just sit on it. It’s so much fun to have new toys!

The other exciting thing is that I now have a car seat that faces forward. Mama and Papa decided I was big enough, so my old car seat has been replaced by a pretty blue one that has its very own cup-holder. It’s great being able to see my Mama and Papa while they’re in the front, and I think they like being able to see me too.

New word this week: “Bubba” - a small figurine who wears a work-shirt and looks like a biker.
I’ve got a big ball now!
On Saturday, Mama left early, so Papa played with me for most of the day. After breakfast, we went outside to see our neighbors. They had set out a yard sale with lots of clothes and toys that used to belong to their daughters. I got to play with all the toys that were set out, and then papa gave me a ride in their stroller.
On Sunday, we went to the store. They had a great big bin full of big bouncy balls. Papa let me play inside the bin, and then when Mama came back with the cart, he put the biggest prettiest ball of them all right inside for me to keep! It’s pink, so it matches most of my outfits, and even though it’s about the same size as I am, I can still pick it up and toss it.
Later, while we were still at the store, Mama picked out a purple fuzzy chair that she liked. I liked it too. When we got home and set it up, I climbed right in and sprawled inside. It’s so comfy, and it’s so much fun to sit in.
Monday I learned a new skill. I can eat with a fork! I started with some Cheerios, but that was hard. I got a few in my mouth, but mostly they just fell. But then Mama gave me some bread with peanut butter on it, and I was able to pick that up real good. Mama was so proud of me because my hands were still mostly clean even after I was done eating.
On Tuesday, we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Grandpa was really nice. He let me play in the bird bath. Then Papa and Mama gave me a bath in the big yellow duck.
Mama, Papa and me have been a little sick most of last week and today, but we’re getting over it pretty good. But Jessica was real sick today so she wasn’t able to come play with me. I hope she gets better soon so I can see her on Friday. Get well soon, Jessica!

Today was nice. Not too hot, but not chilly. I suppose the day was pretty ordinary for May.
We stayed home and Mama took me outside to play for a while. I have a bucket that I like to fill with rocks. Mama likes it when I put things into containers, instead of dumping them out. She makes me feel good and claps for me when she catches me doing that. I clap for myself too, because I know what a good girl I am.
I also clap when I hear good music. When Papa played music on his laptop today, I let him know that I liked it by clapping my hands and saying “Yay.”
I hope you all like the new picture. Papa makes the funniest faces when he takes my picture. He really cracks me up!
